I think they missed that part about the garage. I think a 15K should cool the front.
If the breaker didnt pop and the voltage is measured inside the rig above 110 then it should cool ok. I dont like the description of the ext cords. My guess is the voltage was low.
My other guess is if you were unpacking and the door was opening and closing, it will never cool down.
As others have stated, if you are getting a 20 degree differential across the unit that as good as it gets. Keep the door closed.
Another option is to add a 8K portable into the mix. You have to deal with the hoses and run a separate line for it.
