6v is designed specifically to deep cycle every day on the golf course.
X2, with a 12v battery @ 105amp/hrs (X 2) means only 105 amp/hrs usable at 50 % SOC. With a 'true deep cycle' 6v (in series, assuming 210amp/hrs) potentially 157 amp/hrs at 75% SOC.... Bottom line equals approx 50 more 'usable' amp/hrs in a two battery compartment.
As to the cell failure issue, statistically the odds of a single cell going out are greater with twelve cells than six, this is one reason why the airline industry prefers a three or two engine configuration over a four.
