2006 Damon Daybreak dash air issue

I'm having a problem with my dash air that has me stumped. It blows hot all the time. I've replaced the ACME water valve in the past so I'm familiar with that part of the system. I just clamped off the hose and it still blows hot (not warm, hot). With the clamp removed I get some weird numbers... the hose on the input side is at something like 140 degrees and the hose going to the ACME Bubble Unit is somewhere around 80 degrees (all according to my IR no-contact thermometer). That's regardless of the servo setting.

I was thinking I might have two problems (maybe low refrigerant and a bad water valve) but what I'm seeing still doesn't make any sense.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Do you see any leaks anywhere? There is a switch with wires attached to the top of the switch that turns the AC on and off. Look on top of that switch to see if it is wet or oily.
  • Is the compressor running? If not you're most likely low on refrigerant. The water valve only stops the engine coolant from going through the heater core. Sounds like that is working given those temperatures.
