I have been wanting to purchase a generator for sometime. I currently have a Honda 800 watt generator that must be at least 20 years old. I use it mainly for a few days of dry camping. Just to charge the trailer battery and run a few lights. I have used it once or twice during a short power outage at home. Put gas in the tank and maybe 2 pulls and it always starts.
This thread has given me much information. Honestly, I don't understand 1/2 of the technical stuff. But I took the plunge yesterday and went to my local Pepboys and bought a Power Pro 3500. All I want to be able to do with it is to plug my TT into it and have AC and a few other things. Should the occasion arise and we are without power at home, I would run an extension(s) for the refrig, sump pump, tv and some lights.
I'm going to take it over to the TT this week end and try it for a short while. A few weeks ago< I rented a generator, 3000W, for a week end. I plugged it into the TT and the AC worked fine. Every 3 1/2 hours I was back to fill up the gas tank.
