Heed the advice of LittleBill :)
BTW if you go to Wal-Mart and buy a $.99 duplex to six-way adapter you can plug the six-way into your genset then plug the power maximizer into the six-way. The Maximizer will cover 4 of the outlets but leave two accessible so you can plug a worklight and/or other gadget into the generator as well as the RV. I did this for a week after Katrina with my ELIM-3000. The adapter had ample surface area contact and never got warm.
