It is not EMF or RFI, or for that matter anything that should cause a problem in or around an RV.
Not to nitpick, but it IS exactly EMF . I think you meant to say EMI. :) Looking at the waveform I suspect there are some higher frequency products there which might be called RFI. It would be interesting to get a spectral plot to see just what is there.
The appearance of the signal does not bother me in the least and there is nothing I would hesitate to connect to the power being supplied. No, it does not look like the “pure” sine waves above – but does it really need to?
No, it does not. I would not hesitate to connect anything to it, either. The output looks a LOT better than most of the inexpensive power inverters on the market.
Most modern products go through EMC testing before they can be marketed (look for a CE marking on the product). Some of the test suites include testing the ability of a product to withstand a certain amount of interference coming in on the power lines. Typical tests would include up to 2kv surges, 1kv electrical fast transients, and 3vrms conducted RF interference. IMHO, if they can handle that, they can handle anything coming out of a modern generator.
I, too, have a cheesy WFCO in my present camper, and eventually I want to replace it with a PD.
