Don't know for sure, but I'll bet money the WFCO has a current waveform that is anything but sinusoidal. Judging by the waveforms you posted, I would guess that it has simple rectifiers going into capacitor filters. No current would flow until the AC waveform is close to peak, and given the generator's output impedance that is why the peaks appear to be flat. The peaks would not be as flat when connected to utility power since that has a much lower source impedance than the generator.
I will be pulling my camper next weekend and will be pulling it by where I work, so I may hook it up to a power analyzer to take a look at it. You've got my curiosity up. :)
