As a Costco member since 1995 and utilizing online purchasing frequently, I don't believe Costco sold out of the Champion. I checked online a day or two before the promotion price was to end, and there were still several hundred available for sale.

Actually, Costco did not have physical possession of the new gensets. The only thing Costco did was process the orders, collect the money and forward the orders to CPE. They were all shipped from CPE's warehouse.

I cannot say that there are none left, but since this was a "promotion" that was subsidized by CPE to allow the introductory price reduction, there was a date for the promotion to end. It was July 1st.

It is now up to Costco to stock and ship future gensets. While there is a manufacturer's suggested list price, it will be up to Costco to decide what they will sell the genny for.

I have no information as to the status of new stock - it may be here, or it may be on a boat from China.:h

So..... we just have to wait and see what the next phase will bring us.

I don't think I said Costco had them in their physical inventory. I was just reporting what I saw on their website as available. For much of their online merchandise, you are right, orders are processed and forwarded to the product or service provider for fulfillment. I recently purchased a HP Laptop from Costco, which was shipped to me via Fedex from China.
From past experience with Costco, I would be surprised if this particular generator will be offered again, unless Champion offers it to Costco at a discounted price. I own an Onan Homesite 6500 generator purchased from Costco online at an unbelievable price of $679. Haven't seen an Onan 6500 offered again.
Just curious, are you affiliated with CPE?
