I have been so distraught lately over my Champion C46540 said to be not so safe. So this is what I set out to do. Disassemble the whole machine, piece by piece and look it over. Well, today after getting the Champ partically dismantled, I have stopped. I found so much what I call real quality in what I found. The AVR lays on the desk before me. Has a etched part number CPE 070605-1. Has showing one large cap with logo FEC 250v 220 uF and one quite small cap. The AVR looks of good quality all in all. So another question comes to mind. Why should this part be perhaps the weak link to what looks to be a fine piece of machinery. Going further in my plan to strip the Champ down to a box full of parts. I opened the valve cover on my way to break down the engine. Had to look at those rocker arms Prof' pictured. Well, they looked nicely made to me. The stamped kind. After looking at the valve cover and discovering what I consider, real quality, I began thinking, hey, I can't just through this little jewel to the trash just because of worry about this AVR thing. Anyway, I'm amazed at the quality I have found so far. So what to do now? Maybe later I'll continue.
