I have the same Champion generator. Tried it on a Lincoln wire feed welder. As soon as I tried to strike an arc, it almost died. It could not take the surge.
By the numbers, a good condition 3500 Watt Champ should easily handle any 120Vac load which is rated for 120Vac/20A household circuit. Mine does.
