I can mostly only speak for the greater Los Angeles basin and we have been doing just fine thank you very much. Never had a brown out and the last black out was the peak Enron days.
Upgrades are progressing every single day.

I have heard rumors even TX has been making improvements.

First mandate we can get rid of is the corn to motor fuel requirements. Is that a political power grab too? I always hear the political momentum starts in Iowa.

I agree the EV subsidies can expire on schedule of the original law that has served the purpose.

BTW I believe the grid will do just fine. Not sure why the words "uber costly" as I understand solar and wind produce electricity at the lowest cost.

Either way, you might consider a cursory review of my previous…Note, that I have absolutely zero dislikes whatsoever for either BEV’s, battery tools or solar…My points have only to do with: (disparage or deflect as you choose) …

1) No objective science exist to support the suggestion of a lowered carbon production (e.g. the policy lurch towards BEV’s).
2) ‘Forced’ neighbor-to-neighbor purchase subsidies (minus supporting science) equates to vote harvesting).
3) An already overly taxed grid that likely cannot sustain a ‘rapid’ mass transition to BEV’s….Solar-wind is Great as long as it happens, but now (per the OP’s original post) add EV trucks to the mix!
4) No public dissemination of or review of the supporting carbon reduction science - no scientific peer review of such equates to a Rasputin-like practice of scientism…
5) Policy by unilateral edicts rather than by input from an informed public - should not the public be informed ?? (this is not how a democracy is designed to work) - Hey, what could possibly go wrong - lol…

What I find ‘generationally alarming’ is a general lack of policy curiosity enquiry, maturity and engagement, and a near complete and willing submission to unfounded green mandates - While (I’ve read here…) there are those here who seek to impose forfeiture of one’s Individual Rights upon others for the ‘perceived greater good’ of the collective…Sadly, Skepticism (aka, ‘the Socratic method’ - seemingly displaced by the inertia of popular narratives (aka, Group-think)…Skepticism is no longer deemed fashionable or even permitted…It’s unclear what this wholesale trend of “my way or the highway” will mean for or dear progeny - will they also not be inquisitive??… From my perspective, this type of ‘new think’ is a particularly poor, results based example of our uber costly, post-modernist curricula investment…A study of western history will verify my concerns, but then again who’s much concerned about history anywaywhen it’s far easier to outsource one’s own critical thinking skills…

3 tons - currently ‘off-grid’ enjoying self-reliance and the solid benefits of 200a/hr LFP, 440w of Solar, and very capable Li leaf blower :)

I see that Canadian Solar is now making a 580 watt panel. It is approximately 93 inches long and 53 inches wide. It should fit on my class C. In fact perhaps 3 or even 4 would fit.

Nah, a value based consumer. If I'm going to pay a premium for a particular "benefit", then I want to make sure I maximize the value of that "benefit".

In other words, if reducing carbon emissions is the "benefit", then I want make sure one of the qualities is very low low carbon emissions during it's entire lifecycle (manufacture -> use -> disposal).

Some people focus strictly only on "use" and disregard the mountain of carbon emissions produced by greedy, profit-driven Chinese factories (manufacture)...and what winds up in our landfills, aka Mother Earth(disposal).

I look at the entire cost: monetarily and socially, cradle to grave.

So we should not build solar panels until we have electricity from solar panels to build them?

I keep thinking to eliminate coal we should build the panels. Otherwise we will just be using coal indefinitely.
