- Timmo_Explorer IIWe can talk about who is a worse, but numbers don't lie. Since January the CPI has increased, things have not gotten better (period)....and I get nearly 6% increase in Social Security (greatest increase in decades).

That would be better for the environment because of the clean energy in Canada, and it would reduce the US national debt. Mexico just passes them thru, why doesn't the US?
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerFocus on energy issues please. Rants about politics is like straight oatmeal sludge -- it gets old quick. Or down here: Pink and green tortillas They Fill You Up Fast...
As far as California banning chain saws, it isn't going to happen. There are thousands of off-grid homesteads. Wood heat.
Grid overload will come from an aggregate over taxation from motor vehicle, dwelling and industrial demand. - free_radicalExplorer

The original comment was about overloading the grid with EVs and the follies of renewable energy. Overloading the grid with EVs would cause rolling blackouts.
Safety shut off is no different than any other cause of the power being off. Power off is power off.
If you need to charge your EV to flee the wildfires, does it really matter just WHY the power is off? I think not.
If it is 100 degrees outside and you need to cool your home, does it really matter just WHY the power is off? I think not.
I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Power outages for ANY reason are a problem when you have to rely entirely on electricity.
If you want to talk about safety shut offs due to poor installation and maintenance of equipment that is a different conversation.
Whatever.- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerWe Méxicanos are hoping the cactus curtain works :)
I calculated today the price of regular gasoline here and it's $3.26 Please don't crack jokes about the gasoline. Its USA refined with 0 alcohol.
We have a 1.15 Gw generation plant no outages or wind propelled flying wires.
And steam distilled water in our pipes. But it isn't sterile.
And the power and water is regional. - BobboExplorer II

Okay. Haven't heard of PG&E?
Here is a link to an article. These 29,000 people facing blackouts may not think it is a "lie with no evidence."

Still trying to find parents to about 300 children separated from parents. Should be paying $2,000,000 a month in child support for that disaster.
I thought Mr. run to Cancun was the Cuban?- Personal freedom is great until it infringes on someone else. Need to have balance.
