- MrWizardModeratoryes but quality terminals will resist corrosion 'better' than bare copper wire

But you still have the ring and screw exposed to the elements and corrosion. I have seen it to many times.
the ony 'screw terminals' that are good are 'terminal blocks' where the wire is inserted in a hole
great for residential and industrial buildings
but they leave the wire exposed to air, dc power in RV's the connections around batteries or moisture 'corrode'
and just sticking a wire under a screw head is a 'not so good idea' - rerodExplorer

Blue Sea stuff is good quality. I also like VTE stuff. VTE does not have a similar fuse block as the BS 5006. GenuineDealZ is a very reliable web seller, too (the link posted)

I like the ANL fuses glass filled nylon and brass..
Think I might go with those instead. - john_betExplorer II

I didn't realize adhesive lined shrink wrap even existed.
Regardless, This forum always motivates me to do my best with what I have, so Iv decided to buy the copper crimp ring terminals and solder them on after tinning.
Does Blue Sea produce top shelf products? I like the looks of the 5006 MAXI Fuse Block.

Agree about the wire block quality found in the car stereo biz.
Shrink fit Vs. adhesive lined shrink fit -understand your comment if in regards to unlined shrink fit.

Really? You've seen a 4 gauge wire wrapped around a screw?
Id have to see the test numbers to be convinced crimped is significantly better, because the good screw terminals with a hole (some even have a tongue under the screw) put allot of pressure on the wire and rebuildable and visual is a plus for me. That's why I'm trying to find a well built fuse block. Not some Chinese junker which strips out when I tighten it the second time.
Yea, the Noalax has been in my tool box for 30 years and wires I treated back then still are corrosion free. couple three.
You guys think shrink wrap seals a compression connection from the elements? Iv pulled apart a few motorcycle shrink wrapped crimped connections and seen more which were flaky and green causing lots of problems. I would have to say shrink wrap only protects from a short but holds moisture inside if it gets wet.
Want the best? solder it.
