As stated above a male 30 to female 50 adapter connects the ONE hot on the 30 amp end to BOTH hots on the 50 amp end.
Very simple test with ohm meter. Stick one probe in male hot and the other probe in either of the outer straights on the 50 amp end. CONTINUITY.
Yes, you are substantially more limited in what you can run:
50 amp= 2 50 amp hots @120 VDC
30 amp= 30 amps @ 120 VAC
But all circuits in the 50 amp RV do have power (until you turn on too much and kick the 30 amp breaker).
