- FLY_4_FUNExplorerTwo buddies each have 4x6v batts from costco and are very pleased with the results. Last summer they were $139CDN each, so not sure US pricing but I would be comfortable putting them on my rig when my Trojan T105's are at the end of their life.
Daryll - PuddlesExplorerThink about 1400 K from home... suddenly you need to use the warranty... is there a "x brand" dealer nearby? In the US, Sam's are everywhere... don't know about Canada
- theoldwizard1Explorer IICostco sells Interstate brand batteries. Unknown manufacturer (there was an internet rumor it was Trojan).
Sams sell Duracell brand batteries. These are manufactured by East Penn, who sells under multiple brand names including Deka. - Sandia_ManExplorer IIWe do the same but bought our last two sets of GC2 6 volt batteries from Samsclub. First set were Interstates, they were heavily used and abused for over 7 years and still had life in them. Traded them in on our current set 3 years ago when Samsclub had a great deal on some Duracells, they are giving us good service as well.
I don't fret the label or badging these warehouse stores have on their batteries since they are made by one of the leading manufacturers anyway, you can ruin a high $$ battery just as easy as a less costly version. Good maintenance and correctly charging then back to full offers a battery the best chance at having a long, serviceable life.
One our neighbors works at a major golf course nearby and mentioned he could get golf cart batteries at a decent cost but when I told him what it costs at Sams he said he would not be able to beat it by much, a few dollars each at best. I buy more fuel on a single RVing excursion in state than I do for a set of 6 volt GC2 batteries, I have money for high end batteries, just see no need to change what works very well for us. - SoundGuyExplorer

Costco is good if you have a membership.
The OP is in Canada, not sure if Costco membership here in Canada will get him into a US Costco. :@ - j-dExplorer IIOr Sam's Club if you can get in. We have a third membership big box called BJ's Wholesale. Not sure they have batteries in their Tire/Auto department though. The big boxes often have trial/introductory membership ways to shop without actually joining.
I was in Walmart the other day and noticed they had those GC2 batteries too. That could be a backup plan. - DrewEExplorer IICostco is good if you have a membership. If you don't, the cost of the membership plus the batteries makes it a much less attractive deal.
Sam's Club offers a one-day guest membership that has a ten percent surcharge on the purchase price of stuff (but doesn't cost anything up front). That's what I used to purchase my 6V batteries, and for me it was the most economical choice in my general vicinity. There is a Sam's Club in Pittsburgh, it seems.
Golf cart dealers can be quite variable; sometimes they may have very competitive prices, but others or other times the prices are much higher than Costco/Sam's Club/etc. - Boon_DockerExplorer IIIGot my GC2's (225 AH) from Napa Auto Parts. Seven years now and still going strong.
- mboppExplorerBatteries + Bulbs had the cheapest price on GC2's with the 10% on-line discount. And the best price on GC2 battery boxes. I called the local store about availability & they said they just got a pallet full of GC2's in, the cases are a special order with 1-week delivery.
- rarobertsExplorerCostco 6v batteries have also served me well. 7 years now and still strong.
