There is almost no air circulation where the battery sits on a lot of bikes. Mine sits in a confined space directly behind the V-4 engine and right over the rear exhaust pipes. No air circulation there.I'm afraid I'll have to dismiss your broad statement as "it ain't necessarily so". Bikes have been using AGM batteries for many years in very hot environments, recommended by the builders.

The AGM battery in the wife's bike sits completely enclose by the body, no air flow in any shape or form. Her's is a 2004 and mine is a '99 so builders been recommending AGM batteries for a long time.
