You missed the point
The point he making, is any under the hood environment , is rougher on a battery then the conditions the battery will face as an RV house battery being recharged via converter generator/shore power
It Is hot under there, is subject to sudden burst drains of a hot starter demand, and the alternator is not a smart charger or a constant 14.4
We don't need to worry about I RV use feed it 14.4 until it's full then turn off the generator
If your on shore power use a smart converter and let it do is job, don't exceed float.. Be happy
He trying to tell you
Not to worry about the nanby pamby charge profile from the battery mfg,
Whose sole goal is re placing as few batteries as possible under warranty in the automotive or telco environments
That if you follow his 14.4v charge to full then stop
They will live longer
But you see you have to pay attention to the battery, you have to get involved
It isn't automatic , but if you don't dry camp, or boondock , perhaps you don't need to be commenting about those posts
