A/C can only run by itself, anything else trips it

Anything over 108 is solid good, no worries. The issue is not voltage.

The issue is other items drawing power since it is the 30a main that trips. To stay cool put your fridge and water on propane. You can even turn off all breakers and enjoy the cool as you sleep. Should be able to run off battery power for the night.

Speaking of batteries.... Have you checked your battery for excessive heat or boiling? The converter can draw a lot of power if the battery is shorted.

Also check for heat on the body of the breaker itself. If it is a double breaker they tend to build some heat with so much power feeding in through the main and directly out through the air conditioner. The shared heat makes the breaker more sensitive.

Wiz, It was actually his 30A CB as later clarified.

OP, That's good voltage, so it appears that either you're using over 30A or have a weak breaker.

The breaker for the air conditioner, does not control the whole house
That one breaker should be either a 15 amp or a 20 amp
Something is labeled wrong or wired wrong
Or there is a break in the circuit and a cross circuit feed back
What is the size of the breaker?
One pole or a double,
Run every thing you can on propane,
Most A/C units use about 12~13 amps when running
The water heater will use just as much maybe more
The total is too much for a 30 amp service in hot weather

Last minute thought, do you have three A/C units
The one in the middle might be an add-on, and wired to the main 30 amp breaker, so it is getting all loads, tripping that will shut down the whole RV
It very likely needs to be replaced, by an electrician

If you're parked for longer term work situations, It might be cheaper to buy a window unit and run that off a separate cord to the pedestal. If you're pretty set on pimping what you have, a good electrician should be able to set you up with 50 amp service and then you can shop for a second AC.

BTW, have you cleaned your existing A/C unit lately. Most folks just expect them to run forever but they work better when maintained. If you haven;t cleaned the condenser coils and filters for awhile, I'd bet a cold one that doing that will lower your inside temps by 5 degrees.

I would be concerned about the quality of the meter. Next, you need an amperage meter to see what you are running through the breaker. Just replacing the breaker probably isn't very expensive to do if you can do it yourself. But, it would just be a guess.

Shutting off additional loads is easy and cheap. If you have a lot of lights on, it can add load to the converter (and overall system) as well.

I have a 31 foot 5th wheel and 30 amp service as well with 15,000 BTU AC, it (30amps)is marginal at best. Especially with the quick recovery water heater with electric heat turned on.

If I have trouble cooling, I will consider installing a second AC with it's own, separate electrical source.

(Watched numerous boring utube videos on multimeters) So I think replacing breakers would be a cheap fix but for long term as long as the ac unit doesn't need replacing my best bet would be to convert to 50 amp. Second AC on 30A. Both will not run at the same time on 30A if they are the larger units. And you are already having trouble with one AC.

You could add a second AC and a second 20A power cord.

There are several basic ways to upgrade to 50A. They are all involved and somewhat expensive. But once done you'll have 12,000 watts of power vs 3,600 for 30A and you can run everything at the same time all day long.
