Ac not cycling.

I have a 2014 Big Country with 2 15 k AC's. The bedroom unit works fine and we use it during the day mostly. The living room AC is the one giving us problems. It is set to auto and comes on fine and blows good cold air. When it reaches the set temp it shuts off as it should but the problem is as the inside temp warms on it won't start up again most times unless I shut it off manually and restart it. This sucks when you wake up in the middle of the night sweating and have to shut it down and restart it. Don't want to listen to the bedroom unit when we are trying to sleep. It's a dometic black square thermostat. Thanks in advance for any answers or help.
  • Yes that is the old style. Obsolete. Get the new style. Plug and play swap and you will like it better. Anyway I had the old style and like the new one better.

My link shows white but available in black. If you have a heat pump or something else special call to get the right stuff.
  • My thermostat looks like this one.

  • Yes my bet is the thermostat itself. The relay control box in the ceiling would be the long shot.
I don't know of any further method of diagnostics.
    Replacement is only about $30
  • Did the reset. No change. Could it bet the thermostat itself?
  • This does a reset: (assumes single zone square thermostat)

    System Initialization
A system initialization will need to be performed by the installer after
    the system is installed.

    • Make sure the Single Zone LCD thermostat is in the Off condition.
See page 4, “Quick Reference To Control Buttons”.

    • Press the “+” button and, while holding it, also press and hold
the On/Off Mode button for three seconds.

LCD will show - - . Press the On/Off Mode button again to turn system off.
    This completes the initialization.

    see manual page 3

Yes the capacitive touch looks different but functions the same as the old style with buttons.
If you have the old style with click buttons, I recommend the newer capacitive touch model.
