Ac stopped cooling

So the ac unit on my lance cooled the camper down from 99 to 81 then stopped cooling and it's about 78 outside. My generator (3k watts) is not acting like its loaded so th compressor is not kicking in.

Prior to this I noticed that the t stat was turning the ac off 4 degrees before the set temp. And the ac was coming on and off fairly fast. Maybe 1-2 mins apart. I took off the cover inside and I don't see ice forming so I'm not sure if its a frozen evap. I'm going to try it in the morning.

I'm thinking the short cycles could have overheated the compressor so I owill try a tstat unless someone has other thoughts.

  • Hold a paper plate above tstat to keep cold air from ac to short cycle it. 8 1/2 camper its hard to keep cold direct air from blowing on tstat.
