adding an external powerbox?

For the record, yes, that TV is history. LOL. Anyway, what I am looking to do is add and outdoor weather proof box in my slide that will enter into the cabinet under the TV. For this year it will be used to run the cable for the tailgater through with next years plans being to remove the cabinet doors and add a fireplace at wich time it will be used to run electricity directly from the fireplace to the post so it will never run through the trailers wiring.

Anyway, what I am wondering is if I am going to run into any wires when I cut my hole. I'm thinking the chance is pretty slim but thought I would ask in case someone knows where the wires will most likely be run for the entertainment system.

  • That was my thoughts as well. Looks like my project for this weekend has been determined.

They run in one of two channels.. One is at the TOP of the wall (HEader ovre what appears to be a slide out) outer is in the footer.

If you cut more than 4 inches from the floor.. Odds are good you will miss everything.

Problem is they are odds.. At some point the wires need to come up or down.. If there is any way to access the area ou are going to cut into before you cut.. Do so.

You said the cabinet under the TV... Odds are there is nothing there IF wires run UP thy will hug (or be in) the side walls of the cabinet, not the middle of the back wall.
