All I know is while AGM appears to be the answer for me getting all the batteries in the trailer, I will stay away until I mount my panels and get a controller capable of handling the voltage needed.
Also due to the charging requirements I will stay away from AGM when I see great deals on CL. There is just to much chance used batteries can be damaged. Too bad too because the deals are stupid cheap like 4 Lifeline 8-D's for $600. I could have left the solar and generator at home.
