I'm thinking of getting the Dometic brisk II. Anyone think this is about the best one? Any better ideas?

You might also consider reflective insulated window covers to reduce heat gain, and move as much cooking outdoors as possible to reduce that contribution.

My Outback is 35 feet long with 3 slides. It originally came with a 13,500 AC, only 1 (30 amp). I looked into installing a second one, and the dealer/repair shop I purchased from said "no." Extra wiring, and separate plugs and just basically, a lot of work.

So we decided on at 15,000. Never had problems again!

Couple tips:
If your camper is already "hot" when you turn on the air conditioner, close the slides first, then turn the air on. Smaller spaces will cool faster. After the main area gets cool, then open the slide and the AC will probably keep up .... up to a point.

RV are nothing but ovens! If the outside temps are too much, you can't keep them freezer cold.

Once you get it cool, do not turn the air off. Leave it on, even at night. If the camper starts out cool in the morning, the air conditioner will probably do pretty good at keeping up then.

If this does not help, the 15,000 will make a difference. Still follow this advise about retracting slides first, even with the 15,000 and you'll be fine.

You may have all your holes sealed up, but it's still only got about an inch of insulation between you and the blazing sun. Its not like a stick and brick house you know.

That's the way to do it IMHO.
A 15K (which I have) will do better but in those kind of extreme conditions it wont do it alone.

I set it in the morning and it runs all day long and will not shut down until long after sun set. Placing this one in the bed room with it's own power cord and putting the 15000 in the living room. Thanks for all the help.

The CORRECT answer is-----your trailer is TOO LARGE for any (13.5 or 15k) AC unit to cool in HOT temps. You need a 2nd unit and will have to get a dedicated 2nd 30 amp cord and breaker box to run it. Doug

Add 2nd ac and get it's own plug port so you can plug it into the 15 amp plug next to the 30 amp on the pedestal.

Yes you need more cooling power (BTU) and the 15k will provide about 10 percent more.
A/C will tend to run continuous so get an early start and let it run. If you arrive with a hot trailer it may not really cool off until the sun goes down.

For real cooling comfort you probably need two air conditioners which may require 50 amp upgrade.

if its dry get a humidifier it will help
