- JiminDenverExplorer IIWe have a 5000 BTU window shaker that we use in our 25 ft trailer. I'd want bigger if we were somewhere more humid.
- nineoaks2004ExplorerMy 2016 Coleman Lantern has an 8000 unit built in, It works outstanding and we have to tun it down. Plus side: not sticking up on the roof, so clearance is lower, if it dies I can go to Wally World and buy another for 150.00 or so. I do not have to worry about replacing gaskets, leaks etc and I do not have to go on the roof..
I have had one in several pop ups and they work great, I usually had to make a piece to funnel the air upward because they were so low in the unit. - jjjandrbakerExplorer

Minde is one of them. It is the "lowest end" you can buy. I love the AC. It works really well and is no where near as loud as the ceiling unit I had in my pop-up. It has kept me cool and comfortable for going on five summers in the Texas heat.
There are some small low end trailers that use a house AC. - westendExplorerI have a window shaker in my tent camper. It gets temps low enough to hang meat. I am going to install a 5K BTU unit in my TT. That will be permanently mounted, not in a window. With the extra insulation I have in the TT, the 5K BTU unit should cool everything well. Some newer 410a coolant units use very little power. It is possible to get a few hours of cooling with inverted battery power assisted with solar. Before I add more solar, I'll be using the A/C with a cord to the grid.

anyone ever add a household window unit to their tt
how did it work out for you
what size did you use
I do it all the time when it is super hot out.Makes a huge difference coupled with the 13.5 btu unit in 95+ degree heat in a 30ft trailer.I put it in the bedroom window when needed..I also use it with my Honda 2k when it is just very warm outside to cool it some.
Mine is just a 5K BTU window air conditioner bought for less than $100 on special.Well worth it in my opinion. - ChooChooMan74ExplorerThere are some small low end trailers that use a house AC.
- _DJ_1Explorer IIHere is a good write up of installing an AC in a TC. Should also work for TT.

He mounted his in the back of the rig so he didn't have to remove it while driving.
I believe his was a 6K unit. If you get a large A/C you may have concerns with the weight, especially bouncing down the road.
Make sure you reinforce the wall under the wall under the A/C if necessary.
Or, just remove the unit when driving.
