The problem is that with the generators in eco-mode the voltage is sagging below the cutout voltage of the Progressive EMS unit during the startup...
1) The Progressive unit relay drops out shutting down power to the AC.
2) Voltage bounces back up. The Eco throttle doesn't see a load and remains at idle...
My PI EMS has a setting for a power on delay of some seconds... 90? or none by changing a jumper within the unit. If I set mine to zero I can start my AC with my Honda 3000 in eco-mode, but the relay chatters for 2 seconds until the generator gains enough rpm to hold the voltage above the cutout. I suspect this is bad for the AC, So I shut off the eco-mode or the PI EMS... either way it runs with 117 - 118 volts.
