Aligning a Torsion Axle

Looks like I bent my torsion axle and it's eating tires. Can it be aligned?

  • I have found out a torsion "square" axle can be aligned (bent). I had it done at a truck shop. I have been there before with trailers with "tube" axles.

I had my Alko-kober axles done two years ago at an alignment shop in my area that specializes in RV axles and it has been fine ever since.
They bend the entire axle using the aligning equipment to get a proper setting.
  • I disagree- I know at least some can be aligned- my Airstream shop manual has instructions, but it takes a special machine to bend the axles.
  • Sadly, no. If you bent a torsion axle, you bent the spindle, and the spindles are not replaceable.
