I've caught this a couple of times myself. But I also noticed in the fine print to go to your order page and change the shipping to "free". It isn't automatic.A while back I joined Prime & now I get everything as two day shipping free as long as it's Prime. The trick is to watch the Prime prices and select the Prime vender who has the price in line with normal cost.

I have been using AMAZON for just about everything I order here... Really haven't had any problems like that...It lists the invoice before your actually order with the credit card... Here recently I am seeing something called "PRIME" and it big thing is two day free shipping...The PRIME thing doesn't show up until you actually add the item to your buy box... I think I am hearing that AMAZON is opening up a shipping location here in our state which will make me have to add sales tax on my orders. I can't remember when I had to pay for shipping with orders over #35 dollars or whatever the threshold is... AMAZON has been been like the old Sears and Roebuck catalog from years back. They have everything available. Most people don't remember the days you could order a house from Sears... Just enter correct part number on GOOGLE with the last word being AMAZON and it usually POPS up on the computer screen...Thanks for the lookout tip...Roy Ken

There's another potential problem with AMAZON shipping that I ran into once. Ordered something from them and got a Tracking Number for the item. It never showed up and the Tracking Number was eventually deleted from the shipper's web site. Turns out the package was denied by the shipper because it was poorly packaged and returned to AMAZON who didn't process it correctly as a return. Their records indicated the item had been shipped, but they were unable to verify receipt of the item thru the shipper's Tracking Number. AMAZON eventually shipped a replacement, but then asked for the return of the original item and if I didn't return it they'd charge me for both items. Thankfully the shipper had enough information in their database to explain the whole story, but it wasn't accessible from their web site. That was my last time buying anything from AMAZON.

I've never ordered anything from Amazon that I had to pay shipping for. I don't always buy from Amazon because they aren't always the cheapest, even when you figure in free shipping. But if the price is right, and the shipping is no charge then I do buy it at Amazon.

I do buy from Ebay sometimes, but much less frequently. Ebay's return policy just doesn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling. :)

You can figure it however you wish, but $99 went from your pocket to Amazon's. What you spend it on is up to you, but it ain't "Free".

and it depends on which of those items ordered qualified for free shipping.

I wish everyone would quit referring to "free" 2-day delivery with Prime, or "free" streaming video, etc. You're paying for it, it's part of the membership package. None of it is "free", it may be very cheap, but you've paid for it.

Placed my first Order with Amazon in 2010. Bought a bike rack, most expensive item ever purchased online.

Purchases
2010 = 1 item
2011 = 2 items
2012 = 22 orders
2013 = 25 orders
2014 = 26 orders

purchases includes coffee beans, appliances, electronic devices, gps, etc.

Never had a problem with deliveries, (even while full-timing), charges, etc.

Have returned several items, it was hassle free. Only problem was a defective Kindle. They replaced it twice and sent both replacements overnight express before I even had time to return the defective unit. Returned items were credited to my account as soon as the item was received at UPS.

Amazon customer service has been exceptional for me. Now using Prime for streaming movies, music,tv, etc.,,,,oh, and free 2 day delivery. Recently received 2 kitchen appliances overnight express from Delaware so they could meet their 2 day guarantee. I would have waited for the 3rd day.

Bought Base plate, tow bar, towing light packages, etc.

Hard to beat their prices, but I always comparative shop, and occasionally Wally World will beat them. Actually WW has good customer service when online shopping.

Just got to read carefully before clicking; Place Order!
