aux fuel tank

I have one of those champion 2000 inverter generators and i wont to install an aux fuel tank to it.I found one at walmart but i dont know what fitting i need for the tank to start running the hose.Does anyone know the fitting i need? The connection at the tank has a female end.I will be putting a fuel pump and filter in line. The pump will work off the gennys power with the supplyed battery charging clips that came with the genny.I just dont know what fitting i need for the tank?

  • Don't know about today's generators but old models with charger taps offered uncontrolled rotor field power in the 16+ volt range. Methinks if things haven't changed any pump connected to such a connection is going to have a short, unhappy, but exciting life. Something to check before getting too involved.
  • Extended run or transfer tank?

    Transfer uses electric pump.

Extended run uses a impulse pump (vacuum)

Check out the Yamaha ext run kit, parts are likely the same for your genny.

I use this one to speed up the fill to my main diesel tank. The reviews indicate it can fuel a lot of things.

As an aside, if you left your tank in the bed of your truck you might not need a pump.
