Are the Dump Valves fully Closed? Open ones can cause an airflow back into the unit.

Just another thought to throw out there. I chased what I thought was a sewer odor for awhile and discovered it was a battery that was off gassing. Smelled like sewer gas and was caused by a shorted battery.

If you are plugged in put your hand on the side of the battery(ies) and see if it/one of them feels warm. Caution. shorted batteries can explode.

May also want to check vent on roof and that it isn't clogged. Some people do not use chemicals in their black tank. They stink. If your RV is used it may take a while to get rid of the odor. Like other posts make sure p traps have water in them.

Cleaning black water tank. About 30 years ago I made a unit to clean my black tank. About 30" of half inch copper pipe. Ball valve and hose fitting on one end. The other end a cap. In th side of the cap drill drill 2 holes about 3/16" dia one above the other about a 1/4 inch apart. I stick it down into the toilet and clean out the black tank. Rotate it around and get the black tank clean. Your monitors will work great. I clean mine out every month or so and my black tank is like new again. Or you can pay to have that service done. Walmart sells such device but it is worthless.

There should be no odors. If traps are not dry, then a vacuum breaker is bad or a vent line has come undone.

Just downstream of 'P' traps are 'air admittance valves'
They allow air into sink drain lines when draining grey waste tanks so that a suction isn't created on sink drain lines which would suck the water out of the 'P' traps.

Sometimes that fail to close (age/fatigue etc.) and don't properly close.
When that happens stink from grey waste tanks come back inside RV.
Grey waste (soap scum, food debris, hair, skin cells etc.) can smell as bad as black tank odors.

Most hardware stores will have them.
Easy to replace.....just look for a stub pipe after 'P' traps. They just screw off by hand.
