To follow up, I took the battery into a battery shop yesterday for a test and it turns out it has one dead cell. The Interstate battery came with our new 2014 TT picked up last April so has lasted only 1 year. We never dry camp and are always plugged in at a CG or at home so it's a bit surprising. Have routinely checked fluid level and topped up as needed.
I guess the charger was putting out 13.7 volts trying to charge the battery, but the battery wouldn't take a full charge with a dead cell.
I guess we just got unlucky on this one.
