You missed my point entirely. My knuckle-dragging quip was directed at snippers who would criticize my posting to the Trojan PDF link that shows the effects of different contaminants in the water.
Guess you never had occasion to purchase ten gallons of distilled water then had it disappear into DWs steam iron, various female appliances, humidifier, Bi-Pap, etc.
In Michoacan 1/2 liter bottles of water cost A DOLLAR AND A HALF. So I made my own wood-fired steam distillation plant. A roaring fire will render a gallon of product every eight minutes. A month after it went into service I was raided by the Federal Police who were convinced I was distilling bootleg Mescal. The concept of distilled water for batteries was beyond them.
