Bent & Cracked Frame 08 Attitude

Recently purchased a 2008 Eclipse Attitude 21LB and after getting it home, discovered the driver side I-Beam is bowed outward about 2 inches right above the tires, bent spring hangers on drivers side and cracks on both sides. Looks like axle hit the bottom of frame on the passenger side. Didn't bother to look at frame when purchasing since the rest of the trailer looked mint.

Can this be repaired and if so, is it worth it and what kind of ballpark price am I looking at? Found the Lippert repair but doubt they will cover due to the age and dont want to go through insurance since they may total the trailer. Looking for recommendations on repair shops around the Bay area. Thanks!

    Just a normal Lippert frame.

    Yeah, you don't know what the fix is until you get under there. After shopping I bought an older rig with a box frame. The issue with some of the "I" beam styles is that it's not a piece of traditional i beam. The flex that is going on causes bending and cracking. I grind and weld everything then start boxing, plating, gussetting everything.

    It could require good deal of stripping stuff off or out of the way but it can be fixed. If something is bent you can sometimes chain at one point or temporarily weld a piece on then go to an opposite point and use an hydraulic Jack or porta power to bend it.

    Some repairs might include side to side pieces to tighten everything up. You might even end up with all the brackets stripped off so long pieces can be over laid. For lifting and repair sometimes a subframe is fabricated. I'd sure rather discover that vs water damage

    My son-in-law had his trailer lifted to accommodate bigger tires by the guys at San Martin Specialty. I think they could easily repair your trailer. They should be able to repair or replace the spring hangers and possibly put a doubler on the frame where it's cracked.

    If you're in the South Bay Area you can take it to Leale's in San Jose - we've been using them for all our service needs for over 10 years now. They do great work and have competitive rates. They do collision repairs in their body shop so they should be able to look at your issues and give you an idea of what you need.
