I guess Sears DieHard Advanced Gold AGM have that same doubling of life--"It has an estimated two times greater cycle life, which means improved performance and extended life".
I would go out on a limb and say that a very well made AGM (perhaps pure lead)that wasn't discharged more than 25% and was charged adequately, would out last a similar sized FLA battery under the same circumstances. I don't think it would be double, maybe more towards 10-30%.
It's tough to figure the comparison accurately because the construction is different between the two and there's also a quality range of both types. I give the AGM the nod because of the VRLA. Does all that sound right?
