Sm, I was just looking at deka/east Penn site and noticing temp compensation. It dawned on me that it may be set at 14.8 max to compensate for cold temps. I have looked at his books but not full blast. He falls asleep when he looks at it. He's not really into it but I working on him in regards to watching his ah use and getting used to seeing how his system is performing.
In hind site where paying attention could have helped is when he was seeing the voltage difference on his monitor and the screen on his magnum inverter. It was showing a big voltage drop.
He's into slapping down his money for the solar and running aGM. He just figured that it was all ok. The place in Yuma suggested that he rewire but then he would go back to camp and a bunch of old loud mouth knownothings would rant on about how they were all crooks and just trying to shaft him. They said there is nothing wrong with his wire.
This evening when the sun was low I told him to dig out his meter. He came out with a nice new in package $3.00 analog turd. I said great let's look at your float voltage. He did it and couldn't figure out how to read where the needle was. I explained it and said so how many volts are you reading? He said I can't really tell. I said throw that in the lake as soon as we find one and buy a digital. Its about the size of a pack of cigarettes. Its funny.
