Cable TV in motorhome

We just purchased a new motorhome. We are staying at a RV park that includes cable. I can scan for over the air TV stations and everything works fine. However, when I put the TV on "cable" mode and scan, I only get a handful of stations and they are over the air stations and no cable channels. On my previous travel trailer, I had to turn off the TV antenna pre-amp before I could scan for cable channels. On this motorhome, I don't see a way to disable the TV antenna. I have the coax connected outside. Any ideas? I do have a HDMI switch box which will connect the Blueray player (and I connected a Ruko device) but I can't seem to figure out how to get cable TV to work. This is a problem since college football starts tomorrow!! :)

I stand corrected. I DID find the TV antenna pre-amp button. I turned it off and the cable channels scan now. I keep finding/learning new things on this motorhome.

    excellent.

  • It would be useful to know what brand/model antenna you have.

Burch, try turning OFF the over-the-air TV antenna amplifer and then re-scan for cable channels. also be sure that the INPUT on the TV is on cable (you implied you've done this but just making sure).

I don't see anyway to turn off the antenna amplifier. On my travel trailer, there was a switch in a cabinet that would turn off the amp. I had to turn it off or the cable scan wouldn't work. I don't see any type of switch for this antenna.
