MY RECORDINGS for tv series GRIMM
are AVCHD CODEC mts files
i will have to make some new recordings and see what the codec and container data are
perhaps i should have used the word 're-wrap' instead of conversion
i know it is the broadcast quality and resolution
NO down conversion
MPEG2 has more than (1) standard
DVD video is Mpeg2, but it is NOT HD broadcast standard
and all of this is just anecdote info to the OPs question
