Unfortunately, just "knowing" this, is NOT proof to the California DMV....really a bunch of hard headed bureaucrats who insists that they have actually "see" the proof. I understand that they have rules that they have to adhere to, but it just stands to reason that if "all" are built to CARB specs, then you shouldn't have to see the proof.
Go figure.

Your Cummins has and engine ID label on the side of the timing cover (viewed sideways) that gives HP, Torque, Eng. S/N.
Scott, the label is pretty much on top of the timing cover, as I have mentioned previously. I've found the label but due to hoses and wire bundles running across it, I'm unable to read the serno that is on the top left corner of the label. I think I can read it from below, but it's gonna take some contortion to get up in beside the engine.
However, I have just recently noticed that on the label, there is "EPA CARB"....which tells me that it is CARB (California Air Resource Board" certified.
We'll see.
