Having just registered mine in California from another state I don't think smog compliance should be an issue. Diesel motorhomes over 14K lbs are smog exempt. The girl at DMV wasn't sure and was going to send us to a smog station until we asked her to double check and she did some further investigation. Read the DMV site yourself and be knowledgable when you go in. What was required was a ViN verification which must be done by either DMV or an LEO. She did the VIN verification and we had our plates in hand in less than 30 mins. Your coach mfg should have the engine number on file.
