You know, we have been to the local DMV about five times, twice to the Bakersfield DMV and have talked to the main office in Sacramento at least a half dozen times.....all on trying to get this coach registered. In almost every case, the agent handling our problem gave us different answers. One even charged us twice for the registration fees ($1800) and they still haven't refunded us.
I have searched the DMV site and I have yet to find anything that said diesel motorhomes over 14K are exempt. Can you provide me with the location of that rule? I would love to go into the DMV with that info in hand. I know that they are exempt from smog inspections, but I think they still have to conform to CARB regulations.....and that is what the DMV is pushing us for.
Anyway, I think I have found the info on the engine tag that will satisfy the DMV and will be taking the coach to them tomorrow for inspection. Keeping my fingers crossed.
