Just reading on Battleborn,I noticed this comment made by them..
We’re also often asked as to why most lithium battery companies say not to bring their batteries to a full charge or below 20%. The batteries use cylindrical cells that can be drawn down completely. Other lithium batteries typically utilize prismatic or block cells for their chemistry. Avoiding the use of prismatic or block cells allows our batteries to have a longer life span and to achieve 3,000 to 5,000 life cycles.
Unless I'm misreading it,it suggest it's the prismatic that shouldn't be drawn below 20%..Kinda a diss on prismatic true or not..
its misleading. it is the chemistry that determins draw down not the form factor. form factor will determin how fast it can be discharged or charged as some forms are easier to cool, and a little bit of energy efficiency.
I am not totaly sure they know what there talking about either. what is a block cell? is he trying to say prismatic cells are not block cells, they are shaped like a block. I saw another threas where they called a type "prismatic pouch cells" thoes are two different form factors not one, there is the pouch cell which is flexable and has to be compressed or you can draw or charge at high rates, then there is a prismatic cell which is in the form of a brick and is metal incased, and clyndrical.
I already discussed the differences in another thread you were on but it seams that every time we show you how it works, you just pick a different thread and ask the same thing all over again. granted there is a new componant that may be confusing you so it is what it is.
some companies do use extra capacity some don't, whats so hard to understand about that?
now seperate that from when they advertise there voltage (pretend they didnt even say anything about the capacity) when empty the voltage is 10V when fully charged it is 13.6. thats pretty simple, it seams what is confusing you is they (or you) are combining two different facts. they advertise 100 usable AH, so even if they put more in is that being dishonest? as a consumer would you complain about getting more for your money? but you sure as heck would if they only gave you 90AH wouldn't you. you seam to be trying to vilinize a company for giving you a better product than you paid for.
