Disconnecting door heater on Dometic DM2652RBX refer

Thanks to SoundGuy I now realize ( hopefully ) why my battery drains so quickly while sitting at my daughters house for a few days.

SoundGuy provided a picture showing the switch he installed. That is one option.

Someone else mentioned they installed a fuse at the back of the refer to disconnect the heater. Another said they just unplugged the heater.

Since we have full hookups most of the time I am liking the unplug the heater idea. I can unplug it while at my daughters house and plug it back in otherwise.

Question is: Does anyone have a picture of the wiring in the back of the fridge so I know I am unplugging the correct wire?

Not opposed to the switch which looks nice but unplugging seems easier since I will likely only need to do it a couple of times a year.

Thanks

  • On lower circuit board in outside compartment the 'heater' DC POS comes from J2 terminal (far lower left) RED lead

That DC POS goes to the lamp/heater switch inside the food compartment

Unplugging that lead from J2 terminal will not allow the 'heater' to come on NOR the interior lamp

That is why the on/off switch mod.
