Disconnecting sewer hoses

The Drainmaster sewer hose system might be an option. No more bayonet fittings to wrestle with which can be a beach to get off. Don't know anything about this product and if attaching the hose to the tank outlet is easier as it has a couple of clamp thingies. No wye fitting either if you happen to have two outlet locations.

Not to hijack a thread but I thought I was the lone ranger to have a blowout take out an entire sewage bay!

Opened my bay door after the blowout and it looked like a bomb had gone off inside. Tore the valve blade levers clean off and shattered the enclosure. Who designs the placement of those tanks? To begin with you'd think that kind of weight should be placed in front of the axles.

I gave up on the 3" stinky slinky years ago. Been using a Sewer Solution and would not go back. I do carry a 3" one just for dump stations.

This one is not plastic. I'm headed out and will put the drain hoses in my trunk and stop at advanced auto on the way home to see if they work.

To the rest, I've tried all types of hoses and lubes. some were better than others, but at 67, I want easy!

They come in different sizes so be sure you get one big enough to get around the couplings. I have to give my darling wife credit for this though. I was struggling with some Rhino couplings in summer and could not get a good enough grip with sweaty hands to disconnect it when she suggested these. She had seen me using them to change the oil before. She's smart like that sometimes when I need it most.

The Large Size which is the one you linked to is rated at a maximum 4 inches. It does work, but it is a bit loose when spread wide on the "hook" side of the connection. I plan on going to the local Home Depot to see if they have anything a bit larger, and also to get some type of rubberize dip for the wrench ends so the metal grips are not directly against the plastic. even if the 4 inch is the largest, they do work!

Thanks for the darling wife comment, now I have to find a way to make this her idea, wish me luck!

Just a quick point...if you use Vaseline (or maybe something else) keep it off the area where the O-rings are- they'll fall out and then there's a bigger problem.

Smear some vaseline on the connection, comes off easy.

Quality of connectors, and even the valves can make a big difference in eaze of operation. Ever since I had to replace the grey tank, and every bit of plumbing, including the hose and the fiberglass box that contained it all, (it was all left on the freeway because of a rear dual blowout) and replaced it all w/ genuine name brand stuff from the local "Kamper Korner" here, I have never had such smooth operating valves, and eazy on/off hose connections. Quality of parts makes a big difference.
But if you have a problem, a can of silicone spray can be your best friend.

What type of sewer hose and connectors are you using? The old fashion slinky sewer hose?

I switched to the Rhino sewer hose and connectors. The sewer connectors are thick big and VERY easy to grab and turn to remove and put on. Made a big difference for me.

The connector to the black tank is also different. Big and knobs to grab to get it off real easy.

Not mention the fact that the sewer hose is rigid and expandable makes the whole hook up process a more pleasant and easy experience.
