A solid NO in my opinion. Discount Tire's plan overs replacement due to a tire failure or manufacturer defect IF it still has legal tread left and is not older than 3 years. I have had one tire failure beyond repair that I remember in 50+ years and a million + miles of mine and my DW's driving. Had I paid all those protection plans for all those tires I would have wasted a lot of money.
Ask youself. How many tires have you had to replace due to failure rather than wearing out.
You get free flat repair at Discount even if you did not buy there.
IF you are NOT in Discount tires system, they charge you $10 for flat repair. You then get a $10 coupon for $10 OFF your next purchase. They USED to fix flats for everyone, but no more. I always pay for the protection and have had at least 5- $100 plus tires replaced in the past 15 years. Discount will even replace the tire under the ESC for just a flat. This ESC is one of the better deals out there. Remember, there has been NO tire damage protection on tires from the manufacturer since 07/01/1977. That is the date all tire makers dropped the (free) Road Hazard warranty on tires. I found this out in 8/5/1977 when my new Trans Am hit an object in the road and blew out my 30 day old tire. When I went to replace it, the dealer told me the Tire makers quit the Road Hazard 7 days before I picked up my new car. And the nice thing about it, Discount gives you NO HASSLE at all. They just pull it in and replace it. You DO have to purchase another tire warranty for the replacement tire. The ESC is only good for the original tire. Doug
