Dometic fridge 2852 fails to relight.

Our fridge is working fine until it cycles off at night and then it doesn't re-light. If you cycle it on 1 to numerous times it starts and runs fine till next night. I cleaned around the fire box. I'm wondering if there is a relay or solinoid or something causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • I'm thinking it was/is a propane issue. Was out of gas this am. Lit right up on new tank. My DC is way solid. I'm going to add vacuuming fridge/firebox to my maintence schedule.
All other appliances have been working great but I can seethe fridge may be more sensitive to pressure issues. I'm beginning to suspect my 1.5 year old regulator... The main burner on stove has yellow tipped flames on high.
We are in the desert and it's been hot, so fridge runs all day till middle of night. I'll see what happens tomorrow.
Thanks for the great responses and for moving the thread to appropriate forum!
  • If you are running a lot of electronics, incandescent light, and furnace at night, your battery is suffering. The voltage may be dropping enough that the fridge control board is not getting what it needs.

Seems to me other problems would be happening randomly, not just at night.

You may need a new battery, or a better converter, or to reduce your electrical consumption, any or all of these.

Are you plugged into AC Power source or running off battery?

On propane.......spark electrode has to have correct gap (1/8") and must be engulfed in flame when lit and needs to be centered directly over burner slots (which need to be clear/unobstructed)

When it doesn't relight turn on ALL Stove top burners..check how the flames are (Steady/strong/blue tinges-------or fluctuating/different sizes etc.)
LP Regulator not supplying proper propane pressure.

    Manual
it sure/sounbds like a voltage/problem happening only at night lights on more draw on the batt regaurdless plugged in or not
