Doran 360RV Tire Monitoring System

Well, ran a search and found nothing so I'll put it here. Anyone tried the Doran 360RV Tire Monitoring System and if so, what do you think? Price seems good except extra sensors seem a bit pricey at $71 a pair. Also, the booster that I will need is another $99 (may be able to find better pricing but haven't looked much yet). Would just like to know if anyone has used this yet and what are your thoughts. Thanks.

PS: Any info on any tire monitoring system that works well will also help. Thanks.

  • Still looking for any input concerning tire monitoring systems, particularly the Doran 360RV.

  • Thanks, Dick. That's the kind of info I need. I had thought that the Doran system was rather new but I'm pleased to hear that it has been around a while. Helps to give me more confidence in it. Also, you say that a sensor will drop out and then shortly return, on occasion. Could you tell me if you are equipped with the signal booster that Doran speaks of?

Also, thanks to Ed and I will look into the TST system before I make a decision.

Have decided to add tire sensors to our new rig due to experiences with our last "5th", a 29' KZ. Had it 11 years and it was great for us. We did have 2 "tire" episodes over the years. Had one "blow out" on our way to Arkansas one morning. Did some minor damage that I was able to fix on return. Second experience was a bit more interesting. We were returning from the Texas Hill Country on 281 one morning about 10AM. Had pulled to the side of the road to use the "facilities" and, as always, I did a "walk around". As I passed the "curb side" tires, I heard a very faint "hiss". Now, I'm an old man with way too many years working in machine shops and know that my hearing isn't that good, particularly with all the road noise and wind blowing out there. None the less, I checked and sure enough, the rear tire had a very slow leak in it. When I put my gauge on it, it was only about 10 lbs. low. That told me that it had just been punctured. I have road service but was able to do it quicker myself. I have always known that I am being watched over and this just further convinces me.

Our new rig is approximately the same size and weight as our KZ but has larger tires running at 80PSI as apposed to the 65PSI that the KZ ran on. I feel confident that our Winnie will carry the load easier but still, I think the tire sensors will be a good addition. As I said above, I am convinced I have an extra "passenger" at all times. I'm just not willing to expect more from that passenger then I have coming!

Thanks for the help and Happy Camping!
  • I don't know about the Doran system, but I have been using the TST-507 system for several years. They worked well with my TT. With my new 5th wheel I lose signal from one of them occasionally so I just ordered the signal repeater/booster.

The TST-507 has saved me a couple times, including once from a slow leak in my truck's tire. It is nice to know the pressure of all tires all the time. And to have it sound an alarm when pressure is too low, too high or temperature is too high.

  • I have been using their product for about 10 years. I am on their second generation version which has been out 4-5 years. They work as advertised although on occasion one of my 4 sensors will drop out for a few miles and then the receiver will reacquire the signal.
