- lanerdExplorer IIWell, I ordered the fumoto valve with the nipple. I use distilled water in my cpap and typically buy 1 gallon containers of it at walmart. So, I'm thinking that instead of recycling the empty plastic water container, I can use them to put the used oil in. With the valve and a plastic tube, this should be an easy job. One gallon containers aren't that heavy and easy to move around...plus each will have a cap!
Whatcha think?
Ron - DougEExplorerTry your local farm feed store. They have a number of large feed pans that might work.

or a drain valve - like Futimo
I think you mean Fumoto..right? In any case, do you remember the correct drain hole size?
thanks

Well at least I started it with an F and ended it with an o. :S
I don't recall drain plug sizes. I had a power stroke, but now have nothing but gassers. - patperry2766Explorer IIwheel kit
About once a month the local full service car wash sells all their empty drums for $5.00 each. You could cut one down and put some wheels on it to make it easier to move. - pkunkExplorer

Do MH's ever have a line off the bottom of the pan? Engines in boats have them so you can use a 12vdc or AC pump to drain and fill. Makes life easy.
Not from the factory, but a Fumoto valve can be installed. I put mine on with a full crankcase bu using a shopvac to hold the oil up while replacing drain plug with Fumoto. The Fumoto with the nipple that you can put a clear hose on make it easy to drain into gal. containers. - Too_TallExplorerDo MH's ever have a line off the bottom of the pan? My Cummins ILS holds 28 quarts of oil (7 gallons). The largest container I can find that is used to drain the old oil into is only 5 gallons. What do others use so that you don't have to use two containers?
Ron
I assume you mean draining the oil directly from the crankcase into a container? If so, NAPA has a 56 quart oil drain pan with a spout for emptying. Must be ordered from catalog. My prior truck had a 38 quart capacity. After draining into the 56 qt. pan, I poured the oil, via a large truck funnel, into two five gallon gas cans and emptied them at Wal-Mart. They have a five gallon limit, but once they know you, ten gallons can usually be dumped! - badboy368Exploreri use a plastic 55gal. drum cut down to about 14inches and just slide it under the coach drain oil then put into the empty containers.. works great and it was free:):C
- AcampingwewillgExplorer III use the fumoto and I have one of the Drain Pan's you can buy at any diesel truck part store, its on wheels and rolls easily under the coach for my 32 quarts. I do as others by drilling a hole in the old filter before removing, makes it much easier to handle. Now, with all this good, there is some bad, I generally pour the used oil back into the empty 1 gallon containers to take to recycling. Its somewhat of a hassle but I've been doing this for 10+ years.
Oh, I think the drain pan on wheels will hold about 80 gallons...they do have different sizes as it gets heavy fast. - Jim-LindaExplorer III do it the hard way with the Cat, 32 qts. Go to Speedco, complete service, don't have to mess with waste oil, documented service for later.
