I sure did read them. Perhaps you didn't? All the curves go vertical at the rated current.
It's just that the first curve's time is shortened before the curve goes "vertical". It's an incomplete curve because the author wanted to emphasize high-current and short duration breaker triggers. Don't let that fool you!

Wrong, even the first graph shows that. Do some go vertical at 100% rated current, yes. Do ALL of them? No.
