I had a 30 amp outlet installed at my garage for our 30 amp RV. My friend and electrician did a good job and used 110.
Now have a neighbor being told MHs' outlets should be 220v. States he's done it beofore for people. That's contrary to anything I've ever heard, but I could well be wrong.
So, 110 or 220 for neighbors outlet?
And for the sharp-eyed, I made a similar post on a different forum, not RV.Net.
Won't bother you with the details. BUT I had an electrician put a shore station at my house. TOLD the idiot it was NOT 220. Even supplied him with an RV outlet. He was to install it while I wad away at a sporting event.
He STILL wired it 220.
Came back from a sporting event late in the night and plugged in to my new shore station minus my surge protector. Heck it was my house and I had it installed by a licensed electrician, right?
WRONG $3,000 to repair all that got fried.
Still makes me mad just thinking about it.:M
Hire an electrician, buy the RV outlet, AND print out this link and shove this in his face and stand there the whole time he is wiring it.
Print it out for you neighbor too!

Here is a quote from this webpage:
It is imperative that the Electric Service used for RV’s are wired correctly. DO NOT TRUST anyone, yourself, friends, relatives or ANY Professional Electrician. ALWAYS check out all RV Electric Service BEFORE plugging in the first time.
The majority of the mistakes and the most damage to the RV’s are made with the incorrect installation of the 120-volt 30 amp Service. For some reason people including Electricians just DON’T GET IT when it comes to the 30-amp 120-volt Service. All you need to do is look at the online Forums where RV’s were damaged by incorrect installations.
Hope that helps answer your questions!!! :B:B
