If it turns out that fuel is not the issue then I would think the ignition is breaking down. You can get a complete distributor assembly ready to drop in on amazon.com for $71.77. I would then consider plugs wires, etc. just to be thorough. Hope you find it soon. Just sounds like one of those problems that's tricky to diagnose. Sounds like your on the right trail though.
