Actually, it makes PERFECT sense. Since you put WATER in the ice trays, it added quite a lot of humidity to the interior. That condensed and froze on the walls of the freezer. Because absorption refrigerators have less cooling capacity than compressor/home type refrigerators, the water stays in liquid form longer, so more humidity in the freezer.
